Job Title: Associate Scientist CD&DAbout the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Scientist to join our team at ADM. As an Associate Scientist, you will play a key role in coordinating and managing customer product development projects, supporting the development process from concept generation to industrial manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of ADM's product and service portfolio
- Create and further develop local and regional product portfolios
- Support the Spanish business development plan from a technical perspective
- Understand and follow the business strategy of regional and local key accounts
- Provide technical guidance and support on final product formulation and manufacturing to the commercial team for Spanish customers
- Set goals and priorities to achieve business objectives
- Process sample orders in the IT system
- Conduct sensory and physical assessments, control, and qualification of developments
- Provide samples for shipment to national and international customers for consumer tests and trade fairs
- Review ingredients and adapt formulations in compliance with cost and quality specifications
- Comply with and monitor ISO processes, including assigned rotating laboratory tasks
- Comply with and monitor internal and legal requirements and guidelines for hygiene, occupational safety, food safety, and environmental protection
- Support and participate in customer presentations and internal product presentations
- Collaborate and communicate with departments across EMEA, including development headquarters and technical service teams
Requirements
- BS Degree or MS Degree in Food Science and Technology, Chemistry, or Pharmacist
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the food and beverage industry
- Strong background and experience in product development and application of beverage and food
- Food and beverage manufacturing experience and a strong network in the industry
- Excellent project management skills
- Ability to think about, assess, and shape the future of individuals, teams, and the organization
- Excellent written and spoken English; another language is an advantage
- Strong communication skills
- Solid PC skills and affinity with IT tools (SAP and Salesforce)
- Strong knowledge in the EU regulatory environment
- Travel willingness and no problem spending about 30% of time outside Valencia
- Enthusiasm to develop innovative solutions and trends in the beverage and food market
