**Job Summary**
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Ubuntu Server team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing a globally distributed team of engineers, developing talent, and driving the vision and strategy for Ubuntu Server.
Key Responsibilities- **Team Management**: Build and lead a globally distributed team of engineers, focusing on talent development, coaching, mentoring, and hands-on career growth.
- **Product Vision**: Work with Product Management to define the vision and strategy for Ubuntu Server and your team, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- **Stakeholder Management**: Effectively set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders.
- **Engineering Practices**: Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices, developing and evangelizing great engineering and organizational practices.
- **Collaboration**: Be an active part of the leadership team, collaborating with other leaders in the organization, and engaging with teams at Canonical, the open source community, and commercial partners.
- **Quality Assurance**: Oversee the quality of the Ubuntu Server image family, planning and delivering Ubuntu Server features.
- **Leadership Experience**: 3+ years of experience in leading, managing, coaching, and mentoring software developers, with a strong track record of developing talent.
- **Technical Expertise**: Knowledgeable and passionate about software development, with experience working in an agile development environment.
- **Education**: Bachelor's or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or similar degree.
- **Communication Skills**: Strong written and verbal technical communication skills in English.
- **Cloud Experience**: Practical experience with at least one of Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or Amazon Web Services.
