Accounting and Tax Operations Manager

We are looking for a seasoned and proficient Accounting and Tax Operations Manager to become a vital part of our finance division. The ideal candidate will take charge of all facets of accounting, financial reporting, and tax adherence for our various entities in Spain. This position demands a comprehensive knowledge of accounting standards under local and US GAAPs, tax legislation, and financial governance practices. The Accounting and Tax Operations Manager will also lead a team of accounting experts, ensuring optimal team performance and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise the daily activities of the accounting department, guaranteeing precise and prompt financial reporting. Oversee the month-end and year-end closing activities, including the creation of financial statements in line with local and US GAAPs and corporate guidelines. Ensure adherence to all tax laws and oversee the preparation and submission of tax documents (corporate income tax, VAT, transfer pricing, etc.). Formulate and execute a tax strategy aimed at minimizing tax obligations and alleviating tax burdens. Conduct research and interpret tax legislation. Coordinate and manage audits, both internal and external, ensuring all financial records and reports are accurate and compliant. Develop and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and controls to maintain the integrity of financial data. Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team, including training, mentoring, and performance evaluations. Guide, mentor, and assess the performance of the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and deliver financial insights. Keep abreast of changes in accounting and tax regulations, evaluate their implications for the company, and implement necessary adjustments. Prepare and present financial reports and analyses to senior management and stakeholders. Manage relationships with external auditors, tax consultants, and other financial advisors.
