Accounting Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our Finance department in Barcelona. This role is ideal for someone looking to progress their career in accountancy.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide support for AP assistant and process employee cash and corporate credit card expenses.
  • Communicate with suppliers and deal with their queries.
  • Responsible for bank reconciliations and posting payments.
  • Set up payments using our banking system, such as refunds and commissions.
  • Assist with month-end deadlines, including bank reconciliations and Intercompany compliance.
  • Advise staff and assist them with queries and gather information as required.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial information as needed.
  • Execute additional tasks as required to meet changing priorities.
  • Take ownership of the AP site and cover for other team members.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive accounts payable experience.
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge (V Lookups, pivot tables, formatting of data).
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong technical accounting skills.
  • Strong customer service ethos and high attention to detail.
  • Systematic and organised approach.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to process high volumes of work, to deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Quick to pick up and apply knowledge.
  • High level of initiative, self-motivation, and drive.
  • Reliable with a flexible attitude.
  • Excellent level of customer service.
  • Understanding of VAT.
  • Ability to manage change.
  • Sound commercial judgement.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
