About the Provider Tools Team
The Provider Tools team is a dedicated group focused on making Rover the easiest way to find and book quality pet care. Our mission is to enhance the experience of our providers, who are the sitters offering pet care services on our platform. We are committed to delivering a set of tools that empower sitters to manage their businesses effectively, including developing innovative solutions for preference management, calendar and availability, pricing and rates, and more. Our ultimate goal is to help sitters achieve their business objectives while ensuring the integrity of our platform and minimizing the risk of diversion.

We're looking for engineers who are great team players and enjoy a collaborative environment. They should be eager to see their efforts have an impact on the business and our customers. They should be meticulous about design and user experience because they want to deliver the best service to our customers. They should be able to take loose requirements, collaborate with others to figure out what needs to be done, and drive a project forward. They should be eager to mentor less experienced engineers, share their knowledge, and help foster a culture of learning. They should be detail-oriented and have a desire to deeply understand complex technical systems. They should be excited to learn new technologies and contribute across the stack. They should be passionate about building a deep understanding of how Rover's systems behave and use that insight to identify risks and opportunities. They should get along well with others, thrive in a collaborative environment, and align with Rover's Core Values. They should bring their own unique background to the team, adding fresh ideas and perspectives. They should enjoy being part of a great community of pet lovers.
Qualifications
We're looking for engineers with 5+ years of experience as a professional software developer. They should have extensive experience with frontend development and strong and proven knowledge of ReactJS or React Native. They should be familiar with Python or another backend language and have solid knowledge and understanding of relational databases and schema design. They should be passionate about automated testing, code quality, and general software engineering best practices. They should have experience with different agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban/XP).
Bonus Skills
We're looking for engineers with professional experience with Django and other Python-based frameworks. They should be familiar with automated testing frameworks (like Playwright or Cypress) and familiarity with TDD and BDD. They should be familiar with monitoring tools like Datadog and Splunk and have experience with continuous integration/deployment tools.
