Opportunity Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Lead Software Engineer II with a strong background in FinTech to enhance the Flywire team. Your main focus will be on developing and sustaining the infrastructure that facilitates the seamless transfer of funds through our leading payment platform, which handles substantial transactions daily.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop clean, high-quality, and maintainable code that adheres to best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex bugs and production challenges within the development framework.
  • Analyze intricate issues requiring thorough evaluation of various factors.
  • Employ sound judgment in selecting appropriate methods and evaluation criteria to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Assess performance and scalability metrics, implementing enhancements as necessary.
  • Champion improvements throughout all stages of the development lifecycle.
  • Participate in the recruitment process by identifying and attracting top talent.
  • Ensure optimal performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to contribute to the product vision.
  • Lead initiatives and mentor team members in their professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Approximately 8+ years of experience in software development.
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and reliable web applications and distributed systems.
  • Proficient in methodologies such as Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
  • Experienced with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) practices.
  • Solid understanding of relational database management.
  • Strong grasp of object-oriented programming principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Fluency in English is required, as it is the primary language of the company.
  • Experience in the FinTech sector or payment industry is advantageous.
  • Adept at delivering high-quality code and quick to learn new technologies.
