About the Team

Our Product Design team is a vibrant ensemble of customer advocates, product designers, and user researchers working together on a global scale. We are dedicated to enhancing connections between pet parents and pet sitters, as well as dog walkers. Our mission extends to developing sophisticated solutions that tackle diverse challenges including service bookings, cross-platform communication, personalized scheduling, and ensuring trust, safety, and secure payments.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative mid-level User Experience Researcher to join our team in Barcelona, Spain. As a User Experience Researcher, you will harness your expertise to provide the product teams with insightful, actionable data that will shape the future of pet care services. Your responsibilities will include conducting both qualitative and quantitative research, and managing international research initiatives with external agencies throughout Europe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough qualitative research, including contextual inquiries, diary studies, concept testing, and usability studies, in partnership with UX Design and Product teams.
  • Enhance qualitative data with quantitative findings to develop a holistic view of user behaviors and needs.
  • Vet, partner and lead outside agencies to conduct international localized research to support Rover's international expansion.
  • Generate highly actionable insights and reports. Take a proactive role in educating and collaborating across teams to apply these insights, ensuring they resonate throughout the company.
  • Work directly with product managers, UX designers, and other key stakeholders to define roadmaps and establish clear learning objectives.
  • Bring your expertise in psychology, human behavior, and user experience principles to enrich the team's knowledge and influence the broader company strategy.
  • Spearhead research strategy, seamlessly integrating user research across product design and development processes. Collaborate cross-functionally to embed insights into every facet of the product experience.
Requirements
  • At least 4 years of experience as a user researcher in a business environment, with a strong focus on generative and exploratory research.
  • Proficiency with common user experience research tools (Figma, Maze, UserTesting & survey tools) and proficiency in conducting and partnering on research for international markets.
  • Exceptional ability to articulate insights and strategies compellingly across various audiences and organizational levels.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a proven ability to establish processes and structures within a growing team.
  • Excellence in written and asynchronous communication.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with marketing or research agencies. Experience responding to or crafting RFPs.
  • Fluency in multiple languages, especially German, Spanish, French, or Italian, is highly desirable.
