About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST). The successful candidate will be part of our Methodology group, which addresses the needs of new scientific methodologies, algorithms, and corresponding software for visualizing and analyzing large data sets created at ALBA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop methodologies based on data analytics for addressing user and staff needs.
  • Work in synergy with the Scientific Data Management Section, beamline scientists, and other members of the Experiments division.
  • Collaborate with several partner institutions in the frame of the InCAEM subproject of the 'Planes Complementarios con Comunidades Autónomas' of the 'Plan de Recuperación, Transformación y Resiliencia', of which the CELLS consortium is the executing entity.
Requirements
  • PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, or Physics.
  • Hands-on experience with XAFS/EXAFS, XRD, and/or (S)TEM experiments, data analysis, and theory.
  • Experience in developing algorithms and programming in spectroscopy, diffraction, and/or imaging data processing or other relevant data analysis.
  • Experience in multimodal analysis, mainly using XPS/EXAFS/XRD techniques in combination with TEM.
  • Experience with Machine Learning-based data processing.
