Postdoctoral Researcher in Climate Change and Urban Health

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Instituto de Salud Global de Barcelona (ISGlobal). The successful candidate will be part of our Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health research programme, working on a project that aims to provide new knowledge, data and tools to close the knowledge-to-action gap to accelerate climate change action and protect public health in Europe.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct novel research quantifying the future health burdens attributable to urban environmental exposures in Europe, with a specific focus on vulnerable populations (e.g. children, elderly, low socioeconomic position).
- Process climate data and conduct statistical analyses to lead manuscripts for publication.
- Coordinate large health and environmental exposure databases.
- Draft original articles for publication in high impact journals.
- Disseminate findings at conferences, workshops, scientific journals, and other channels.
- Play an active role in the institutional Climate Action and Health working group.
- PhD (or equivalent) in epidemiology, environmental health, biostatistics or related discipline.
- Demonstrated record of scientific achievement in epidemiology or environmental health; experience with health impact assessment is an asset.
- Experience with statistical analysis and managing complex data in R.
- Excellent quantitative and programming skills.
- Motivated, self-directed researcher capable of setting and meeting deadlines and delivering research outputs.
- Strong organization and team-working skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Full-time contract for 3/4 years.
- Starting date: October/November 2024.
- Salary Range: According to experience and profile.
The selection process is designed in two phases: 1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV. 2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
