Overview and Purpose The Finance and Accounting Division is tasked with overseeing the financial resources related to all operations at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). This includes managing expenses, budgets, audits, banking relationships, vendor interactions, and the processing of receipts. In alignment with current financial laws and accounting standards, the team is responsible for the administration of the center's funds and assets. Additionally, they compile financial reports for auditing and accountability purposes. We are seeking an individual to assist in the center's financial and accounting management.

Reporting to the Accounting Coordinator, the selected candidate will work closely with the finance and accounting team on the following responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will engage with BSC members and all relevant stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
  • Posting accounts payable invoices
  • Document management using SAP
  • Generating reports for the accounting team
  • Providing general support to the accounting department, including document scanning and internal control of general expenses
  • Reconciling cash and credit card transactions
  • Assisting with financial and tax audits
Qualifications
  • Education
    • Certificate of Higher Education (Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior/Medio) or equivalent professional qualification
  • Required Knowledge and Experience
    • Minimum of 1 year in similar positions
    • Understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills
    • Familiarity with specific accounting software (preferably SAP) is advantageous
  • Additional Skills and Experience
    • Proficient in Spanish, both written and spoken (for processing Spanish documents)
    • At least intermediate proficiency in English, both written and spoken
    • Knowledge of public systems is a plus
