About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Insights Specialist to join our team at Ocado Group. As a Data Insights Specialist, you will play a key role in driving data-based decision making throughout our Ecommerce platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Value Creation: Identify the fundamental metrics and KPIs behind our Ecommerce platform, and use these to help product managers unlock and track the value delivered by our products.
- Platform Architecture: Understand where data resides, who owns it, and how it is used throughout the platform, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Tooling and Automation: Identify and build reusable solutions to enable analysis to build on previous work.
- Problem Solving: Use your skills and experience to find platform problems and opportunities, help to size them, and understand the root cause and drivers to guide the product roadmap.
- Data Democratization: Empower teams with the right tools, reports, and guidance to leverage insight to make better informed decisions.
- Craftsmanship: Share best practice analytics techniques across Ocado Technology.
Requirements:
- A highly numerate background, with a key focus on statistics.
- SQL and Python skills.
- A proven track record of identifying and delivering actionable insight and demonstrable business change through the application of analytics and data science - ideally in a product-led business.
- Experience with experimentation and hypothesis testing.
- A critical thinker, with the curiosity to be constantly on the lookout for opportunities and the confidence to challenge and push back.
- Comfort operating autonomously.
Desirable Skills:
- Domain knowledge: Ecommerce, Supply Chain, Fulfilment, or Logistics.
- Experience of experimentation tools such as Optimizely.
- Building dashboards in self-service BI solutions e.g. Looker.
