**Job Summary**

New Relic, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Kubernetes infrastructure organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the backend infrastructure for deploying and managing hundreds of Kubernetes clusters across Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google GCP.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Design and develop Go clients and projects, as well as their support tools, to ensure seamless deployment and management of Kubernetes clusters.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of New Relic's infrastructure, leveraging your expertise in containerization tools such as Kubernetes, Istio, Cluster API, and Crossplane.
  • Collaborate with team members to discuss and implement service improvements, research new tools and services, and solve sophisticated problems effectively.
  • Work in an agile environment with a DevOps approach, participating in second-layer support rotations and contributing to the development of software and infrastructure.

**Requirements**

  • 4+ years of professional experience in software development and/or operations.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or relevant field.
  • Hands-on experience coding in programming languages such as Golang, Java, Python, or Bash.
  • 4+ years of experience with containerization tools, including Kubernetes, Istio, Cluster API, and Crossplane.
  • Strong background in application and system programming, Linux system administration, and Infrastructure as Code (IAC).
  • Ability to learn new coding languages and technologies quickly.
  • Deep understanding of security, reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness of distributed systems on public cloud providers.

**Preferred Qualifications**

  • Experience working with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Travis CI, and Circle CI.
  • API design and development experience with Go programming language.
  • Experience in cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong understanding of the Linux operating system and concepts such as virtual machines and containers.
  • Active participation in open source development.
