About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety, Security, and Quality Expert to join our team at A.P. Moller - Maersk.

Job Title: HSSQE Technical Advisor

Location: Barcelona

Job Type: Temporary

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist functional knowledge in support of operational Health, Safety, Security, and Quality activities.
  • Offer guidance, advice, and technical criteria on Health, Safety, Security, and Quality compliance for the Business Unit.
  • Ensure all work requested in audits in Quality is done (Referenciales de puertos, ISOS...).
  • Performance/Operational
    • Assist and support the execution of the Business Unit HSSQE strategy with responsibility for implementation monitoring.
    • Provide cross-functional advice and guidance for implementation of site Health, Safety, Security, and Quality management requirements.
    • Prepare and compile Health, Safety, Security, and Quality improvement plans and report on performance to HSSQE Business Partner with recommendations for improvement.
    • Identify high HSSQE risk activities and prioritize improvement actions.
    • Monitor the availability and quality of risk assessments and safe working procedures provided by contractors/vendors.
    • Support assurance activities that confirm contractors, suppliers, consultants, and visitors comply with relevant legislation and conform to site HSSQE standards.
    • Participate in a thorough investigation of incidents as required.
    • Monitor post-incident improvement actions to confirm that new controls are implemented and that they are managing the risk.
    • Get to the work site and learn how different functions plan and execute work, applying this understanding to the development of the HSSQE culture.
    • Influence stakeholders within the business unit to support the decision-making process.
    • Provide day-to-day HSSQE advice to local business unit, ensuring that HSSQE standards and policies are relevant, understood, and applied.
    • Support continuous improvement activities and develop project proposals and business cases to support this as required.
    • Lead by example, ensuring compliance with local HSSQE policies & procedures, enforcing safe working practices, and promoting a safe workplace.
    • Verify that work is completed in compliance with legislation and in conformance with applicable business unit standards; act when work falls short of these requirements.
    • Work cross-functional to provide support and guidance on HSSQE and Risk Management programs.
