Job Summary
We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our HR Services Hub, responsible for delivering and processing payroll transactions for assigned locations and Nutreco entities. The successful candidate will ensure timely and accurate processing of employee time information, working closely with the HR Service team, local HRBP's, and the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply payroll and benefit policies, principles, legislation, and collective bargaining agreement provisions.
- Verify payroll reports for accuracy and completeness before distribution.
- Prepare manual payroll cheques and update the payroll system for accuracy.
- Liaise with payroll providers to handle system issues and required programming and updates.
- Conduct research to provide accurate information, guidance, and assistance to employees on payroll-related matters.
- Prepare remittances and reconcile payroll deductions, including union dues, charity, statutory deductions, pension, and government filings.
- Align with the global Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on executing payroll processes.
- Act as a liaison with governmental tax bodies and third-party agencies relating to payment of deductions and premiums.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, HR, or a relevant field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in the field of expertise.
- Proven experience working on continuous improvement projects and project management.
- Communication and written skills in French and English, with other languages welcome.
- Good communicator, building relationships, and making connections between internal and external contacts.
- Strive for operational excellence and high quality, working in a transparent and efficient manner.
- Analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
