Join our research group at the Laboratory of Neuropharmacology, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, in Barcelona, Spain, as a Predoctoral Researcher in Neuroscience. We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative scientist to contribute to our research projects in the field of neurosciences.
Research ProjectWe are working on a research line within the EU-funded H2020 research projects, collaborating with renowned European research groups. The aim of the project is to investigate the neurobiological substrate of chronic pain and the pharmacological modulation of this type of pain.
Responsibilities- Prepare pain mice models and perform operant behavior studies.
- Assess analgesia, sedation, cognitive impairment, anxiety- and depressive-like behaviors, and drug abuse liability for selected doses of the top combinations of the selected drugs using animal models with high translational value.
- Determine drug concentration-time profiles of the drugs in plasma and in the brain at different time points after drug administration (pharmacokinetics).
- Determine the molecular effects of the drug treatment with different molecular biology techniques.
Candidates should hold a valid MSc degree in a relevant field (e.g. Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmacology, Neurosciences, Medicine, Psychobiology, Pharmacy or related subjects) with an average mark of 7.8 or higher. The candidate must be ready to work and progress in her/his PhD project on the design, execution and analysis of behavioural studies of experimental pain in murine models using nociceptive paradigms.
