We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our team at Amazon Books. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Architecture: You will be responsible for the architecture of software solutions, working with and improving on current limitations and compatibilities between subsystems, and the development of major routines and utilities.
- Feature Development: You will design and build new features that are highly performant, ensuring that they meet the requirements of our customers.
- Technical Requirements: You will prepare technical requirements and software design specifications, ensuring that they are accurate and complete.
- Software Development Best Practices: You will insist on best practices for software development and documentation, ensuring that designs meet requirements and delivering high-quality software on tight schedules.
A Day in the Life
This hands-on coding position will actively involve you in utilizing your engineering capabilities and technical expertise in software development. You will gain valuable experience in effectively planning, organizing, and executing software development projects within a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
- Professional Experience: You must have experience in professional software development, with a strong understanding of software design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Programming Skills: You must have experience programming with at least one software programming language, with a strong understanding of coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Computer Science Degree: A Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent is preferred.
