About The Role

We are seeking an ESG Data Research Intern to assist in the development of a dependable and scalable database of sustainability information. This role involves addressing client inquiries regarding data quality and conducting research on corporate social responsibility (CSR) and ESG indicators, along with quality assurance processes.

This position offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into existing reporting standards and the metrics used to evaluate a company's sustainability performance.

Location

This role is based in Madrid, Spain, with options for remote or hybrid work arrangements.

What You'll Be Doing

As an ESG Data Research Intern, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the accuracy of our data, enabling us to deliver reliable sustainability impact assessments. Your tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Gathering, validating, and processing sustainability data from various financial, regulatory, and official sources.
  • Addressing inquiries from internal teams and clients regarding data quality and coverage by analyzing our databases.
  • Following quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) protocols.
  • Examining company-level sustainability issues, including environmental, social, and governance practices, and integrating these insights into broader frameworks.
  • Participating in ad hoc team projects as required.

Requirements

What You'll Need

  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel and/or database management applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capability to work with complex datasets while applying defined methodologies effectively.
  • Experience: 0-1 year of internship experience.
  • Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, International Relations, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
  • Eligibility to sign a university internship agreement.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a startup environment, demonstrating ownership and initiative.
  • Decisive and action-oriented, capable of making swift decisions with limited information, and possessing high energy and stamina.
  • Highly motivated, independent, and genuinely passionate about sustainability and impact.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (minimum C1 level).

Nice To Have

  • Basic knowledge of Python, SQL, and/or business intelligence tools.
  • Experience in a startup environment.
