Key Responsibilities
- Draft, structure, and negotiate a variety of agreements related to non-commercial partnerships, including grants, collaboration agreements, consortium agreements, and non-disclosure agreements. Review and negotiate research contracts, master service agreements, framework agreements, and similar documents.
- Provide legal insights on administrative law matters, including grants, collaboration agreements, public procurement regulations, and science law.
- Offer legal advice and support on intellectual property issues such as open-source licensing, data mining, artificial intelligence, trade secrets, academic and commercial licenses, and creative commons licenses.
- Develop internal guidelines, policies, and procedures to enhance operational efficiencies. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Advise various departments on legal inquiries as necessary, including summarizing and clarifying legal concepts and assisting in evaluating different levels of legal risk.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops on administrative and intellectual property law.
- Provide guidance on personal data management and data sharing practices.
- Undertake additional legal tasks as assigned by the General Counsel.
- Education
- Law degree.
- Essential Knowledge and Experience
- 1-2 years of experience as a practicing attorney in a comparable position.
- Proficiency in English, Spanish, and Catalan, both spoken and written.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.
- Additional Knowledge and Experience
- Previous in-house experience at a public scientific organization, research development entity, or technology sector is preferred. Experience in the public sector is also advantageous.
- Competencies
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal audiences.
- Highly organized, capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Proactive and initiative-driven.

Conditions
- The position is based at BSC within the Management Division.
