Key Responsibilities- Manage all stages of high voltage (HV) design, including conceptual and advanced system design, regulatory compliance, customer requirements, site assessments, permitting, and technical support during construction.
- Design and optimize HV engineering concepts for utility-scale renewable energy plants, including substations, transmission and distribution lines, interconnection switchgear, and power transformers.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure quality and timely execution of grid interconnection projects.
- Prepare bidding documentation for project-specific HV works and equipment, and manage external resources such as engineer consultants, geotechnical surveyors, and other specialized professionals.
- Direct internal and external designers and consultants in creating and maintaining drawing packages and project documentation.
- Collaborate with operations team members on project execution and process development, including project procurement, construction management, and project controls.
- Develop and review project schedules, cost estimates, bills of materials, budgets, scopes of work, standards, and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Coordinate with utilities and regulators for interconnection processes.
- Develop best practices for HV engineering processes in utility-scale PV plants and provide technical training for team members.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in managing HV project design for utility-scale renewable energy plants.
- Strong leadership skills for supervising grid interconnection activities and coordinating external resources.
- Proficiency in preparing bidding documentation and directing internal and external designers.
- Experience in project scheduling, cost estimation, coordination with utilities, and leading Project Engineering teams.
- Business fluency in Spanish and English, with additional language skills a plus.
