Position Overview
In this role, the Apprentice Simulator Technician will ensure that the simulation training devices meet required availability standards.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Acquainting oneself with and performing standard operational readiness assessments to prepare simulation training devices for daily operations.
- Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance for each training device as per established guidelines.
- Implementing Qualification Test Guide (QTG) procedures according to monthly schedules for each training device.
- Loading relevant exercise scenarios and completing necessary preparations for specific training sessions.
- Learning to diagnose reported issues, verify simulator functionality, and address basic operational and maintenance challenges.
- Assisting in equipment restoration or escalating complex issues to senior personnel.
- Performing maintenance tasks and keeping journey logs before and after scheduled training sessions.
- Supporting senior engineers in maintenance, troubleshooting, and certification processes.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Willingness to pursue a technical college qualification.
- Basic understanding and experience with computing hardware, software, and operating systems.
- Interest and preferably some background in mechanical and electrical engineering systems.
- Fundamental knowledge and curiosity about aviation and aircraft systems.
- Proficiency in PC applications such as Word and Excel.
- Fluent in English.
