Overview and Purpose The Finance and Accounting Division is tasked with overseeing the financial resources for all operations at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). This includes managing expenses, budgets, audits, banking relationships, supplier interactions, and the processing of receipts. In compliance with current financial regulations and accounting standards, the division administers the center's funds and assets. Additionally, the team prepares financial documentation for audits and accountability purposes. We are seeking an individual to assist in the center's financial and accounting management.

Reporting to the Accounting Coordinator, the selected candidate will work closely with the finance and accounting team on the responsibilities outlined below.

The ideal candidate will engage with BSC members and all pertinent stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
  • Posting accounts payable invoices
  • Document management utilizing SAP
  • Generating reports for the accounting team
  • Providing general support to the accounting department, including scanning processes and internal control of general expenses
  • Reconciling cash and credit card transactions
  • Assisting with financial and tax audits
Qualifications
  • Education
    • Certificate of Higher Education (Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior/Medio) or equivalent professional qualification
  • Required Knowledge and Experience
    • Minimum of 1 year in similar positions
    • Understanding of accounting and tax systems
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel skills required)
    • Familiarity with specific accounting software (preferably SAP) is advantageous
  • Additional Knowledge and Experience
    • Proficient in Spanish, both written and spoken (for processing Spanish documents)
    • At least intermediate proficiency in English, both written and spoken
    • Knowledge of public systems is a plus

    • An organized and methodical individual with a keen interest in administrative and financial support tasks is essential for this role
    • Ability to work collaboratively, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks
