We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Architect to join our team at BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group). As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical and delivery aspects of our projects, ensuring that they are completed to the highest standards of quality and innovation.
Your primary focus will be on leading the construction process, from design development to project completion. You will work closely with our design teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Liaise with clients and stakeholders to drive discussions and resolve issues.
- Drive conversations and coordination with technical specialist and consultant teams to support design development.
- Report to the Partner-in-Charge on design aspects and to the Managing Director on operations, risk management, and contractual matters.
- Familiarize yourself with and administer project contracts.
- Develop and implement strategic timelines and work-plans.
- Proactively assess and manage risk within all stages of design activity.
- Support and advise on the development of technical excellence across projects.
- Review and maintain excellence in technical detailing and specification.
- Promote continuing professional development and ensure project leaders are familiar with emerging best practices.
- Actively engage with industry technical bodies and attend seminars, lectures, and workshops to maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies.
- A professional degree in architecture or constructing architecture, with +5 years' experience in the role.
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in Spanish and English, spoken and written.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage own time.
- Willingness to take constructive guidance in response to direction from Director/Partner.
- Excellent level of technical competency and industry knowledge.
- Extensive experience of technical design development, delivery, and construction.
