Overview

Luzia, a pioneering AI company in Europe, is seeking a seasoned Senior Backend Engineer to spearhead the development of cutting-edge backend services.

Backed by prominent Silicon Valley investors, Luzia aims to revolutionize conversational capabilities using state-of-the-art large language models and alignment techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design, develop, and deploy scalable, efficient, and robust backend services, particularly in applications involving large language models.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical specifications, ensuring solutions meet performance and business objectives.
  3. Develop APIs and manage inter-service communications that underpin AI-driven products.
  4. Implement best practices in continuous integration, testing, and deployment to uphold high standards for code quality and system reliability.
  5. Mentor junior developers, promoting a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  6. Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and stability of various systems.
  7. Engage in system design and architecture discussions, influencing product roadmap and project planning.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Backend development, with a strong focus on Python.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Strong interest and proven experience/side projects in AI.
  • Driven by a customer-centric mindset with a strong focus on product orientation.
  • Familiarity with the startup environment and methodologies.
  • Deep understanding of large language models and other AI/ML technologies, along with proficiency in Python and other programming languages.
  • Experience with cloud environments, modern databases, and data ecosystems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Proactive and self-motivating with strong prioritization skills and ability to work autonomously.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-oriented language.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with high-performance computing and optimizations.
  • Previous leadership experience or strong project management skills.
  • B2C experience, working with large databases of user information.
  • Experience in AI products/companies.
