Job Overview

This is a key position within the Product Development team at Schreiber Foods, focusing on the development and improvement of new or current products and processes. The successful candidate will explore innovative technologies that support strategic initiatives and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development of new products and processes, implementing the use of new ingredients and technologies to improve efficiency, sales, and profitability. Work in production and pilot plant locations, developing defined work plans, conducting experiments, and writing reports. Collaborate with partners in different parts of the organization to solve problems and improve quality. Establish a network within Schreiber Foods to effectively complete projects and maintain a good understanding of the food industry and competitors that impact the company. Has a good understanding of regulatory standards, labeling issues, and practices. Exercises excellent listening and communication skills, conveying technical concepts to others and effectively conducting presentations to inform and influence decisions. Becomes skilled in new ingredient and formula set-up by developing specifications, plant procedures, and formula guidelines. Plans and conducts scale-up trials for product development and commercializes newly developed prototypes, achieving technological breakthroughs.

Requirements

3 to 5 years of experience in R&D, with experience in food manufacturing and product development, ideally in more than one of the following: development of cream cheese, process cheese, aseptic processing, and hydrocolloids. Knowledge of DOE and data analysis tools and statistical software. History of leading successful new product development from concept to implementation and commercial sale. English and Spanish fluency.
