JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the direct oversight of the Marine Biodiversity and Blue Economy line manager, the Programme Assistant will contribute to IUCN's initiatives in the Mediterranean region, focusing on the following areas:

1) Assistance in the Marine Biodiversity and Blue Economy portfolio (approximately 40% of time)

This involves:
a) Aiding in the execution of various projects and initiatives within the working line.
b) Assisting in the organization of workshops and capacity-building activities.
c) Providing financial, logistical, and administrative support.

Specific Tasks:
  • Fostering and maintaining effective working relationships with IUCN partners engaged in the projects.
  • Drafting reports and documentation related to project activities.
  • Creating communication materials.

2) Support for the Agriculture Portfolio (approximately 40% of time)

This involves:
a) Assisting in the execution of various activities under the projects of the working line.
b) Providing financial, logistical, and administrative support.

3) Additional Support for Mediterranean Programme Implementation (approximately 10-20% of time)

Specific Tasks:
  • Assisting other departments with emerging issues, including event organization, contracts, and partner relations.
  • Carrying out any other tasks or addressing emerging issues as requested by the line manager.

REQUIREMENTS
  • A Master's degree in Conservation Biology or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of one year of professional experience.
  • Familiarity with IUCN tools and Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated skills in logistics and administration.
  • Exceptional editing and writing abilities in English and French.
  • Proven capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and French.
  • A valid EU work permit.

SALARY
The minimum gross annual salary for this position is EUR 26,710. This amount is indicative and may be subject to changes in accordance with IUCN's compensation practices.
