About the Role
AECOM's Building Services Engineering team is a highly qualified group of professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional solutions to international clients worldwide. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - Project Lead to lead and develop teams in completing both small and large projects across various construction sectors, including industrial, healthcare, education, leisure, aviation, commercial, and defense.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for leading technically, designing custom solutions, mentoring mid-level and junior staff, and developing calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications for electrical design work on complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement electrical power and lighting designs for projects of all sizes.
- Make major design recommendations and design decisions with minimal input from senior staff.
- Plan design work, calculate costs, and time schedules to assign design duties to junior staff working on projects.
- Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines, such as architectural, structural, mechanical, technology, and equipment suppliers.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and design data for permanent project files.
- Act as an adviser and review correspondence prepared by junior project team members.
- Attend project meetings and delegate activities when necessary.
- Meet with clients, prepare proposals, and presentations while maintaining good client relations.
- Assist in project checking for quality control on other projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering or industrial engineering with Electrical Emphasis from an accredited program.
- At least 10 years of experience in a similar role or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
- Team management/coordination experience.
- Good knowledge in international regulations and standards (NFPA, BS, IEC, etc).
- Proficiency in engineering calculation software for electrical discipline (CANECO, ETAP, etc).
