Job Summary

MCI is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Customer Service Representative to join our team as a Collections Specialist. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in the recovery of outstanding debts from customers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Customer Contact: Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers through inbound and outbound calls, emails, and correspondence.
  2. Account Analysis: Review and analyze customer accounts to understand the status, outstanding balances, and reasons for non-payment.
  3. Negotiation: Engage in professional and empathetic negotiations to collect outstanding debts while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  4. Payment Processing: Process and set up payment arrangements as appropriate, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  5. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of customer interactions, payment agreements, and relevant information in the database.
  6. Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as company policies, in the collections process.
  7. Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and offering solutions to prevent future delinquencies.
  8. Reporting: Generate and submit regular reports on collections activities and account statuses to the management team.
  9. Training: Stay updated on industry trends, company policies, and collection techniques through ongoing training and development programs.
  10. Targets and Goals: Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly collection targets while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Requirements
  1. Must be 18 years of age or older
  2. High school diploma or equivalent
  3. Minimum of 6 months of experience in collections or billing is required.
  4. Strong understanding of billing and collection processes.
  5. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to handle difficult customer interactions with empathy and professionalism.
  7. Proficiency in using computer systems and familiarity with collection software.
  8. The ability to type swiftly and accurately (45+ words a minute)
  9. Strong attention to detail
  10. Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills
  11. Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  12. Goal-oriented with a strong desire to achieve targets
