About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Applied Scientist to join our JP Economics team at Amazon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and deploying machine learning models that drive business impact at scale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Product, Finance, and Engineering teams to formulate business problems into scientific ones.
  • Design and develop large-scale data pipelines for training and evaluating machine learning models using PySpark/SparkSQL.
  • Train and evaluate machine learning models in a robust manner, leveraging techniques such as hypothesis testing and experiment design.
  • Automate model inference and monitoring on AWS infrastructure.
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams to integrate machine learning systems into business, financial, and system-level decision making.
Requirements
  • PhD or Master's degree in a relevant field, with 5+ years of applied research experience.
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis and machine learning techniques for tabular data.
  • Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, TensorFlow, numpy, scipy, etc.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark, etc.
