About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Operations Graduate to join our team at Ebury. As a Financial Operations Graduate, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our customer payments department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payment Processing: You will be responsible for the instruction and verification of client payments, in accordance with internal processes and SLAs.
- Task Completion: You will complete allocated tasks with focus and in a timely manner, communicating the status of tasks to colleagues, supervisors, and managers as needed.
- Payment Issue Management: You will manage payment issues and queries relating to SWIFT and domestic payments, including the processing of SWIFT query messages.
- Payment Reconciliation: You will reconcile client funds and outbound payments sent and received across Ebury's network of bank accounts, across all back office systems.
- Investigation and Escalation: You will investigate non-received, short, or returned payments, and process or escalate as required.
- Payment Returns and Rejections: You will process payment returns and rejections, in line with internal processes.
- Third-Party Platform Management: You will check and confirm the status of payments in third-party banking and payment platforms, including SWIFT GPI.
Requirements:
- Payment Clearing Schemes: You should have a solid understanding of different payment clearing schemes in the different jurisdictions in which Ebury operates.
- Relevant Experience: You should have at least 1+ years of relevant experience in Fintech / International Payments or similar.
- SWIFT Knowledge: You should have good knowledge of SWIFT in a cross-border payments context, including MT103 message types.
- FX Products: You should have a basic understanding of FX products offered by Ebury, including spot, fixed forward, window forward, and non-deliverable forward.
- Soft Skills: You should be proactive, with the ability to work within strict time-frames and under pressure. You should also be diligent, with good attention to detail, and have effective research skills with an ability to find solutions independently.
- Communication Skills: You should have good communication skills, both written and verbal, and be co-operative, and comfortable working in a team environment.
- Curiosity and Motivation: You should be curious and eager to learn, and actively ask questions to confirm understanding of processes and procedures. You should also be motivated, with a desire to make Ebury a success.
