About the Role

Scopely is seeking a skilled Animator to join our Monopoly Go team in a remote capacity. As a key member of our animation team, you will be responsible for creating captivating animations that enhance the player experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop animatics, transitions, 2D and 3D animations, and VFX to bring the game to life.
  • Collaborate with Tech Artists, UI Artists, UX Designers, and Engineers to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Work closely with the Animation Director and Art Director to establish and maintain high animation quality standards.
  • Provide technical support to ensure efficient production and implementation of high-quality animations.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of animation tools and pipelines.
  • Review and provide feedback on animations created by internal artists and external collaborators.
  • Participate in team art discussions, critiques, and reviews.
  • Work with production to ensure timely completion of animation tasks.

Requirements

  • Expert hand-key animation skills and a solid understanding of animation fundamentals.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience creating animations for games.
  • Experience with real-time particle and VFX-based animations.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • An online portfolio showcasing animation art skills and technical art skills such as rigging, VFX, etc.
  • Experience in giving feedback and mentoring.
  • Some experience with technical implementation of animations in UI and feature development in Unity.
  • Some experience with game feature development, player experience, story, and creating previz.

Bonus Points

  • Additional proficiency in drawing, texturing, and modeling is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop and After Effects is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Jira is a plus.
  • Mobile games experience is a plus.
