We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center IT Specialist to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Data Center Operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Install and Configure Infrastructure: Install and configure racks of hosts in line with internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and Repair Issues: Diagnose and repair issues for server, storage, and network devices, including the physical replacement of parts, to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
- Remediation and Recovery: Participate in Data Center power and cooling events, and remediate or recover physical power issues on racks to ensure the integrity of our infrastructure.
- Shift Work and Physical Demands: Work a rotating shift schedule, including night shifts, and be able to lift and rack equipment using our lifting equipment, as required.
- Travel Requirements: Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle to travel between sites, as needed.
- Computer Hardware and Networking Experience: 2+ years of experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair, and 1+ year of experience in computer networking.
- Education and Certifications: High school or equivalent diploma, and any relevant certifications or training in computer hardware, networking, or data center operations.
- Customer-Facing Experience: Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
