Position Overview

The role of the Inventory Control Manager within the EU Startup Supply Chain team at Amazon is crucial for ensuring the seamless operation of multiple deployment warehouses across the EMEA region. This position is designed for a dynamic professional eager to contribute to the expansion of Amazon's network by managing the logistics of new site launches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing supply chain efficiency and optimizing cost structures.
  • Oversee inventory management processes and ensure accountability for inventory control.
  • Conduct comprehensive business analyses to uncover opportunities for process improvements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to implement best practices and drive continuous enhancements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor management and contractor relations.
  • Utilize data-driven metrics to ensure operational excellence among suppliers.
  • Automate reporting dashboards and metrics for streamlined communication.
  • Develop scalable solutions to address specific warehousing and inventory challenges.
  • Define project requirements and facilitate agendas across various internal and external teams.
  • Anticipate potential risks, escalate issues, and work with stakeholders to create effective mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to support site readiness for launches.
  • Manage supply chain KPIs to guarantee accurate and timely material delivery.

A Day in the Life
The Inventory Control Manager will engage daily with procurement teams, project managers, material suppliers, and installation vendors to assess material requirements, monitor supply chain operations, and address any emerging risks. The ability to analyze extensive data sets is essential for making informed decisions regarding material management across various sites.

About the Team
The EMEA Startup Supply Chain Team plays a pivotal role in preparing new Fulfilment Centres for operation, ensuring that all necessary components are in place for successful launches. The team's vision encompasses managing materials from the initial bill of materials to the completion of deployment, ensuring the timely supply and assembly of thousands of items from numerous suppliers across multiple countries.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering.
  • Proven experience in project management and implementation, with a track record of delivering effective solutions.
  • Strong background in material flow management and vendor relations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in a leadership role within a warehouse environment, managing multiple sites.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan, and delegate tasks across various projects.
  • Experience in influencing stakeholders effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse procedures and policies.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and leadership capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% for project-related activities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a large corporate environment with complex supply chain processes.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to negotiate and manage relationships with external partners and internal teams.
  • Background in warehousing, supply chain, inventory management, finance, or project management.
  • Experience in influencing both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Proficiency in additional languages such as German, French, Polish, Arabic, or Turkish is advantageous.
