About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at CloudBees, Inc. as a key contributor to the development of our industry-leading software products.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be an essential part of our Continuous Integration collaborative team environment, designing, developing, and delivering high-quality solutions that empower our customers to achieve seamless and efficient software delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain DevOps solutions that enable organizations to streamline their software development and delivery processes.
  • Code Quality and Testing: Implement best practices for code quality, automated testing, and code reviews to ensure software reliability and performance.
  • Technical Leadership: Share your expertise and mentor engineers, helping them grow and develop their skills.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, stand-up meetings, and retrospectives.
  • Customer Support: Collaborate with customers to understand their needs, gather feedback, and provide technical support and guidance as needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 7+ years of professional experience programming with Java.
  • Good understanding of how to operate a JVM in production.
  • Significant experience working with Continuous Integration and modern development practices.
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in software containerization technologies.
  • Proficiency in 1+ scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Groovy).
  • Good awareness of modern infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible).
Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience on security assessments & fixes.
  • Experience in Github, Jira.
  • Expertise in DevOps methodologies and containerization technologies.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience with our tech stack or equivalent: Java (preferred)/Perl/Python/Groovy is a must.
  • Experience with UI & API test automation tools, particularly in Java stack.
  • Familiarity with HTTP, REST, HTML, JSON, and similar web-based development technologies.
  • Test-driven development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and advanced CI/CD practices.
  • Proven ability to lead and guide technical projects and initiatives.
