Position Summary
As a Production Supervisor, you will oversee the entire production workflow, ensuring that all processes, outputs, and deliverables align with the creative vision and production goals. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding a team of Production Coordinators and Assistants while fostering a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor the Production Coordinators, Production Assistants, and departmental teams.
- Collaborate with the Production Management team to maintain the master production schedule.
- Work closely with department supervisors to facilitate efficient operations.
- Coordinate with the CG Supervisor to address technical challenges and meet deadlines.
- Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and communicate any changes impacting production flow.
- Proactively monitor weekly quotas and departmental milestones, strategizing with team leads to resolve any issues.
- Create and maintain productivity reports for departments and individual artists.
- Assign tasks and set deadlines in collaboration with department heads.
- Conduct regular check-ins with the crew to foster communication and morale.
- Participate in Director approvals, contributing to the creative decision-making process.
- Manage inventory flow within departments and set clear expectations during meetings.
- Regularly assess departmental progress and develop strategies to enhance productivity.
- Support Coordinators and PAs in prioritizing their workloads through weekly meetings.
- Facilitate the professional development of Production Coordinators and PAs.
- Oversee crew scheduling and approve time-off requests.
- Provide guidance to department heads in collaboration with Production Management.
- Lead the team, ensuring artistic quality and adherence to deadlines.
- Stay updated on current technology trends that enhance the production environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in the VFX or animation industries.
- At least 3 years in feature production departments or extensive experience on two projects.
- Preferred experience working with remote teams across multiple films.
- Proficient in ShotGun, Microsoft Excel, Word, and production tracking databases.
- Strong understanding of film production pipelines and methodologies.
- Advanced proficiency in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
