Position Overview

In the role of Quality Engineer, you will be instrumental in overseeing quality initiatives at our Barcelona Site. Your responsibilities will encompass quality control, manufacturing process quality, management of non-conforming materials, document oversight, new product development, and returns management.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management System (QMS) Support:

  • Assist in the maintenance of the QMS, including the review and updating of documentation (QAP, SOP).
  • Support documentation control tasks as required.
  • Engage in process design and continuous improvement initiatives (lean, 5S, six sigma).

Non-conforming Material Management:

  • Serve as the quality representative in weekly Material Review Boards, initiating escalations when necessary.
  • Coordinate product disposal actions, including in-house reworks, supplier reworks, returns to vendor, and scrap transactions.
  • Prepare non-conformance reports and facilitate the corrective action process using the 8D format.

Gather and analyze data to evaluate process performance and track key performance indicators in alignment with Quality Objectives.

Contribute to the Product Development Process for New Product Introductions (NPI) and New System Introductions (NSI) by supporting the execution of quality-related deliverables, including PPAP, APQP, and control plan design.

Manage the Product Return process, ensuring effective customer communication and participation in troubleshooting efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment, focusing on Quality or Production.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards.
  • Knowledge of REACH and RoHS regulations is advantageous.
  • Experience with circuit board fabrication and assembly is preferred.
