Job Title: Senior Software Engineer - Kubernetes Infrastructure

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Kubernetes Infrastructure team in India. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the backend infrastructure for deploying and maintaining hundreds of Kubernetes clusters.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading company in the observability space, New Relic. Our software delivers real-time insights, enabling software engineering teams to identify, understand, and tackle issues, analyze performance, and maximize their software and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop Go clients and projects, as well as their support tools.
  • Contribute to New Relic infrastructure development and management.
  • Collaborate with team members to discuss and implement service improvements.
  • Research new tools and services to solve sophisticated problems.
  • Ship incrementally and often, maintaining a constant flow of feedback on work.
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of professional work experience in software development and/or operations.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, or education/experience in a relevant field.
  • Hands-on experience coding in programming languages such as Golang, Java, Python, or Bash.
  • 4+ years experience with containerization tools like Kubernetes, Istio, Cluster API, Crossplane, etc.
  • Solid background in application and system programming, and Linux system administration.
  • Involvement in building Infrastructure as Code (IAC).
Bonus Points:
  • Experience working with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Travis CI, Circle CI.
  • API design and development exposure with Go programming language.
  • Experience in cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Solid understanding of the Linux operating system and concepts like virtual machines and containers.
  • Active participation in open source development.
