Skydance Animation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior CFX Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing and reviewing the CFX work of a team of CFX artists, ensuring that the artistic brief and guidelines from the Production Designer, VFX Supervisor, and Character Supervisor are met for the assigned project.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Guidance: Provide creative direction and guidance to the CFX team, ensuring that the artistic vision is met and the quality of the work is exceptional.
- Project Management: Oversee the CFX work of the team, ensuring that deadlines are met and the project is delivered on time.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with production teams, including the Production Designer, VFX Supervisor, and Character Supervisor, to ensure that the CFX work meets the artistic brief and guidelines.
- Technical Expertise: Stay up-to-date with current artistic methodologies and technology trends and tools, and apply this knowledge to the project.
- Team Management: Assign work to team members, provide guidance and feedback, and work closely with production to meet deadlines.
- Talent Acquisition and Development: Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to source and recruit the best talent in the industry, and mentor potential up-and-coming artists to guide them in their career paths.
- Industry Representation: Act as a company ambassador, utilizing your extensive network in the industry to promote Skydance Animation as a first-class place of work, and maintain ongoing relationships with key industry players.
- 8+ years of experience in the VFX or animation industries.
- 4+ years of experience as a Lead in the animation industry.
- A strong creative background as a proven leader in setting direction for a production and inspiring and motivating production staff.
- Extensive knowledge of procedural systems for technical animation on characters.
- Experience with xGen, Yeti, Shave & Haircut, or other grooming and simulation systems.
- Experience with nCloth, Qualoth, Marvellous Designer.
- Experience with Houdini or Maya and knowledge of Arnold and shading.
- Experience building pipelines.
- Advanced English level.
- Spanish oral and written is desirable.
