Position Overview:
The Credit and Collections Coordinator plays a crucial role in mitigating Sibelco's credit risk exposure and enhancing working capital. This position involves proactively managing customer overdue accounts in a B2B context across various countries, reporting directly to the Senior Credit & Collection Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers via phone to discuss payment statuses and outstanding debts, addressing any arising queries such as disputes or complaints.
- Maintain regular communication and collaboration with the Sales team regarding customer accounts, ensuring timely follow-up on any issues.
- Foster strong interdepartmental relationships with Commercial, Customer Services, and Finance teams to enhance understanding of mutual impacts and drive improvements.
- Manage the blocking and releasing of customer orders or accounts in accordance with credit and collections policies.
- Monitor compliance with Sibelco's customer payment term policy and payment terms.
- Evaluate risk-mitigating instruments provided to customers, such as bank guarantees and parent guarantees.
- Oversee the establishment and review of customer credit master data.
- Coordinate and follow up on repayment plans with customers, both independently and in collaboration with management.
- Handle legal reclaim actions in conjunction with the legal department and Business Services Teams.
- Advise on monthly provisions for specific doubtful debts to the accounting and controls teams.
- Support and lead initiatives aimed at improving credit and collections processes.
