Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our Madrid office. This role will oversee all aspects of accounting, including financial statement preparation, internal control policies, and procedures. The successful candidate will report directly to our Head of Finance and be part of a growing team of dynamic professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare monthly close entries and reconciliation, including bank reconciliation, A/P and receivables reconciliation, payroll reconciliation, and other financial statement preparation.
  2. Internal Control Policies: Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  3. Cost Accounting: Manage cost accounting for internally produced assets and track deployment and depreciation.
  4. Tax and Filings: Compute and prepare tax and other filings as required by Spanish authorities.
Requirements
  1. English Proficiency: English proficiency is required, written and oral.
  2. Accounting Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting; ACCA qualification or CPA preferred.
  3. Experience: 3+ years of experience at the Sr. Accountant level, and 2+ years of Audit experience in a public accounting firm.
  4. GAAP Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Spanish GAAP is required; IFRS and/or US GAAP is a plus.
  5. Software Skills: Proficient in the use of MS Office (especially Excel) and financial management software (e.g., Expensify).
  6. Start-up Experience: Experience in a start-up environment in either hardware or software industries is a plus.
  7. Analytical and Organizational Skills: Impeccable analytical and organizational skills.
  8. Self-Motivation: Self-motivated, self-directed, and excited to step outside the role and help in various ways.
