About the Role
Zurich Australian Insurance Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Climate Data Analyst to join our Climate Resilience team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and deployment of state-of-the-art risk assessment methods and tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and continuous update of climate and natural hazards data
- Monitor global sustainability regulations and frameworks to identify needs in terms of climate data and develop these
- Support in the development of data processing and visualization tools
- Source and analyze data from internal and open-source databases
- Transform natural hazard and climate change exposure data into key messages and insights/conclusions to help customers build climate change resilience
- Facilitate climate data knowledge sharing across the organization, as well as with customers and other stakeholders
Requirements
- Master's degree in natural/environmental/atmospheric sciences
- Deep understanding of Climate Change and Natural Hazards science, models, and their practical implementation
- Experience in spatial data management, climate data, spatial analysis, and visualization, big datasets, transforming data into insights for decision-making
- Ability to clearly communicate complicated concepts in a concise and compelling manner to all levels of management and stakeholders
- High level of proficiency in data analytics and tools for visualization of spatial data and software, e.g. Power BI, ArcGIS, and programming languages (R, Python, etc.)
- Fluent in written and spoken English at a technical level with strong customer service orientation
