About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Studio Director to join our team at 2K. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our studio, ensuring the successful delivery of our games.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Studio Operations: Collaborate with the Studio Manager/Director to ensure the smooth operation of the studio, including employee support, facilities, and production needs.
  2. Strategic Planning: Oversee the development of the organization's strategic goals, objectives, and mission.
  3. Development Management: Work directly with development managers/leads/directors to successfully manage development cycles and ensure they follow Project Management and Communication best practices.
  4. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with the San Mateo studio to balance dependencies, deliverables, and output targets, as well as to foster the collaboration and connection between teams across locations.
  5. Process Improvement: Map out workflows, identifying pain points and bottlenecks, and implement solutions to eliminate waste, reduce errors, and increase productivity.
  6. Resource Management: Help troubleshoot and balance resources based on project needs.
  7. Business Analysis: Analyze the current state of the business in order to improve performance and efficiency across the studio.
  8. Standardization: Identify and implement standard processes and pipelines to improve team effectiveness.
  9. Mentorship and Coaching: Lead efforts to develop mentoring plans to foster growth and build teams to achieve goals.
  10. Employee Development: Coach, counsel, and discipline employees, as needed.
  11. Studio Supervision: Supervise the daily operations of the studio. Ensure that business actions adhere to current legislation.
  12. Progress Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate the progress and impact of the operational plans.
  13. Culture and Values: Foster the company's culture, values, and corporate policies, ensuring a healthy and safe work environment.
  14. Community Engagement: Coordinate community social responsibility initiatives with the WEX/Ops teams.
  15. Well-being and Effectiveness: Conceive and implement programs to evaluate the well-being and effectiveness of the team.
  16. Studio Success: Promote the success of the studio and the project.
  17. Global Partnership: Ability to partner across a global organization.
Requirements
  1. Leadership and Team Management: Excellent management and team leadership capabilities.
  2. Problem-Solving and Collaboration: Strong problem-solving skills, cross-functional collaboration. An eye for business processes optimization and change agility are key.
  3. Industry Knowledge: Wide knowledge about how a AAA video game is made and knows what needs to happen when.
  4. Experience: Demonstrated 8+ years of experience in the AAA gaming industry including production leadership.
  5. Production Expertise: Deep understanding of production pipelines, asset tracking, and project management practices and tools.
  6. Communication and Flexibility: Strong work ethic with exceptional communication skills.
  7. Language Skills: Fluent in English and Spanish, both speech and in writing.
  8. Adaptability: Proactive and able to have a flexible work schedule.
  9. Additional Skills: Knowledge of art, design, engineering workflows and game engines is a plus but not required.
