Position Overview
As a Senior Architect for Azure Cloud Platforms, you will play a pivotal role in spearheading the design, development, and execution of cloud-centric solutions that align with the operational and technical demands of Swiss Re.
This role is essential in ensuring that the Azure Cloud framework is in sync with our business objectives and product strategies, ultimately enhancing the value we deliver to our clients.
In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with diverse teams and fellow Cloud Architects to guarantee the reliability, scalability, and security of the solutions that underpin the Azure platform.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the complete engagement process, from initial concept to production, by directing the design, deployment, operation, and ongoing enhancement of Azure-based solutions. Provide expert technical leadership to ensure the Azure platform's reliability, scalability, and security. Develop and sustain technical roadmaps and strategic initiatives for the Azure platform. Ensure that all Azure solutions are crafted and executed in line with industry best practices and Swiss Re's standards. Drive the creation of technical solutions that support Swiss Re's strategic vision. Emphasize the delivery of automated and self-healing systems, optimize workload management, and investigate solutions to improve the efficiency of the Azure platform. Work in close partnership with Azure Platform engineers to offer guidance during the implementation phase of solutions. Share technical expertise and mentorship with team members. Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies within the Azure ecosystem.Candidate Profile
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience in architecting and deploying Azure-based solutions. Familiarity with Microsoft's Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF). Strong proficiency in cloud-native architectures and industry best practices. Proven experience leading cross-functional teams in the design and execution of intricate technical solutions. Comprehensive knowledge of Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, and security. Experience with cloud architectures and patterns such as data-driven architecture, serverless computing, and microservices. Extensive hands-on experience with Azure Services like Azure Kubernetes Services, Azure Web Apps, Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure Machine Learning, and Virtual Networks. Proficiency in Azure DevOps and Azure Active Directory. Strong capabilities in infrastructure as code (IaC) and automation practices. Experience in incident resolution, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews. Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead and mentor teams in the implementation of Azure solutions. Proficient in English (the role requires English proficiency).About Swiss Re
