About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Science and AI Expert to join our NLP team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and training clinical language models, multilingual NLP, and predictive content mining solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Predictive NLP model development, including clinical NLP and automatic text classification.
  • Pre-training of medical language models for healthcare applications.
  • Coordinate technical contributions with team and clinical collaborators.
  • Collaborate in the implementation and deployment of NLP platform prototypes.
  • Contribute to technical reports and project documentation.
Requirements
  • Education: University degree in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or engineering discipline (minimum master's degree).
  • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience:
    • Experience in Natural Language Processing technologies.
    • Experience in developing and training models using transformer architectures.
    • Practical experience with deep learning libraries (e.g., Pytorch, TensorFlow, Spacy, Transformers).
    • Knowledge of deep learning methods for pre-training large language models.
    • Advanced programming skills in Python.
    • Experience with software development resources (Git).
    • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience:
    • Basic knowledge of Spanish.
  • Competences:
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team.
    • Proactive mindset with creativity to design new solutions.
    • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
    What We Offer
    • Location: BSC within the Life Sciences Department.
    • Full-time contract (37.5h/week) with flexible working hours and private health insurance.
    • Open-ended contract linked to project duration.
    • 23 paid vacation days plus additional holidays.
