Data Engineering Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Manager to lead our Data Platform squad within the Platform division. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for mentoring and coaching engineers, cultivating a collaborative team environment, and driving delivery, production operations, and continuous improvement.
Main Responsibilities- Mentor and coach engineers to develop their skills and expertise
- Cultivate a collaborative team environment that fosters open communication and feedback
- Lead delivery, production operations, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work closely with product groups and other tribes to align the team with company objectives and initiatives
- Establish open communication and a culture of feedback between team members
We are a modern and dynamic team using a range of technologies, including Python, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Celery, Golang, Django, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, BigQuery, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, and Datadog.
What You Will Do- Lead a collaborative team in delivering great software that our customers and sellers will love
- Collaborate with the product group and other tribes to align the team with company objectives and initiatives
- Ensure the development of people and teams through ongoing coaching and mentoring
- Create a team environment where team members feel like they belong and are supported to do their best work
- Work in an agile "build it and run it" environment where engineering teams build, launch, monitor, and support the sections they own
- Experience and passion for growing, developing, and guiding people
- Openness to receiving and giving feedback in a safe workplace
- Interest in working in an environment where leaders support their teams to do great work, by removing impediments, finding improvements, and facilitating effective decision-making
- Enthusiasm about reaching new levels of effectiveness (and quality)
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to understand the tech challenges of your team and guide them through decisions
