Key Responsibilities- Visual Effects Creation: Design and implement visually stunning visual effects that align with the artistic vision and technical requirements of the project.
- Collaboration: Work closely with art and design teams to create stylized visual effects that support gameplay needs.
- Lighting and Shading: Create and implement in-game lighting for levels and 3D menu scenes, ensuring that the visual effects are valid for gameplay and optimized for performance.
- Portfolio and Knowledge Sharing: Create documents and knowledge share to ensure that the team is aware of the latest visual effects and lighting techniques.
- Experience: Demonstrable portfolio/showreel detailing experience with real-time visual effects and lighting for game development in Unity.
- Understanding of Visual Effects Principles: Robust understanding of visual effects principles with a skilled sense of timing and staging.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of physical shaders and their interaction with lighting and post FX, excellent working knowledge of visual effects tools including Houdini and Maya, and comprehension of shaders and rendering pipelines as they relate to games visual effects.
- Lighting and Colour Theory: Strong understanding of lighting and colour theory, experience working in real-time lighting workflows using a combination of baked and real-time lighting models.
- Asset Management: Working knowledge of digital content creation tools (e.g., Maya, Photoshop, Substance) and asset management tools (e.g., GIT & Perforce).
- PBR Materials and Shader Creation: Experience with PBR materials and shader creation.
- Multi-Platform Experience: Familiarity working and developing on a multi-platform project.
- Unity Experience: Experience of developing games or game prototypes in Unity.
- Sci-Fi Enthusiast: Enjoyment of Sci-fi.
- Game Enthusiast: A passion for games.
