Job Summary

We're seeking an exceptional Senior Backend Developer with expertise in Ruby to join our growing Engine team. As a key member of this team, you'll be responsible for developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex Ruby applications and microservices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and extend complex heterogeneous Ruby applications, including Rails and microservices.
  • Improve the execution engine of custom third-party code, focusing on Ruby DSL, isolation, performance, and new features.
  • Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code in Ruby and Go.
  • Integrate data storage solutions, including Postgres, Redis, S3, DynamoDB, Kafka, and ClickHouse.
  • Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, including code reviews, evaluation, and proposal of improvements.
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
  • Maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
Requirements
  • Strong experience developing, shipping, and maintaining Ruby and Rails applications (7+ years).
  • Vast knowledge of Ruby, experience with intensive backend applications, and MVC.
  • Excellent debugging, analytical, problem-solving, and social skills.
  • Knowledge of basic data structures and algorithms and how they are used.
  • Good understanding of all building blocks of large web applications, including databases, load balancers, application servers, message brokers, caching, monitoring, etc.
  • Good understanding of network protocols and stacks.
  • Good understanding of DB technologies, including classic databases and modern no-SQL.
