**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team at Hubert Burda Media. As a key member of our cross-functional team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable applications that handle millions of requests each day, as well as workflows related to data-driven services.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and implement scalable applications using big data technologies such as Kafka, Kubernetes, Snowflake, and those from the Hadoop ecosystem such as Hive and Spark.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and marketing managers to support the design, implementation, and evaluation of data-driven features and services.
- Participate in code reviews, participate in deployments, and continuously improve the development process.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and new developments in the data marketing tech world.
**Requirements**
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or a similar field.
- Good programming skills in Javascript/Typescript and at least one additional backend language (Knowledge of Ruby on Rails or Java is a plus).
- Ability to write clean code and refactor applications in multiple programming environments.
- Passion for learning and continuously improving processes and the team.
- Team player with good communication skills in English.
