Job Title: Data Cloud Solution Architect

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Cloud Solution Architect to join our team at Roche. As a key member of our IT organization, you will be responsible for defining and communicating a shared technical and architectural vision across the DataOne system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic consultation to assigned line-of-business (LOB) customers in defining or designing business processes, functions, and organizational structures.
  • Assess current state of solutions, define future state needs, identify gaps, and recommend new technology solutions and strategic business execution improvements.
  • Assist business process engineering/re-engineering.
  • Facilitate stakeholder sessions with personnel across all disciplines in the company to identify and define requirements, assess business processes, and evaluate technology solutions.
  • Conduct solution architecture research, PoCs, feasibility assessment, and facilitate solution application selections.
  • Formulate business and logical data and solution architectures comprised of software, network, hardware, and integration designs.
  • Conduct impact assessments and mitigation plans.
  • Work closely with Enterprise Architects on defining long-term architecture vision, integration patterns, and review of technical portfolio.
  • Create and own the Solution Architecture documentation.
  • Develop IT Strategy & Roadmap consistent with the overall strategic needs of the business division.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis, or a related study, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous professional IT experience. The person must have demonstrated an ability to think strategically and translate plans into operational excellence.
  • Deep expertise & business knowledge in modern data patterns and platforms applied to Pharma, Biotech, Diagnostics, Big Data, or Information Industry.
  • Expert knowledge and experience applying data concepts like Data Mesh, Data Fabric, Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Data Lakehouse, from design to implementation.
  • Experience with entire data lifecycle including information architecture, data architecture, data management, data integration, data ingestion, data security, data privacy, data governance, and data analytics.
  • Implementation expertise in major applications and platforms such as Snowflake and/or AWS data and analytics capabilities.
  • Proven track of design experience using AWS services.
  • Hands-on experience with the design, development, and deployment of technology cloud infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization experience.
  • Expertise in multiple technologies domains networks, systems, databases, security, etc.
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
  • Remains "evergreen" and keeps up-to-date with technology trends and emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and articulate a vision for one or more technology domains.
  • Proven experience of creating architecture designs using a formal architecture framework methodology – TOGAF, Zachman.
  • Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in managing large groups. Person must have demonstrated ability to work across organizations.
  • Demonstrated effective oral, written, public, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to frame complex issues and persuade a wide and diverse audience.
