What are you going to do?
A HSE Specialist plays a crucial role in identifying and reducing workplace risks.
Their main focus is to ensure all operations and activities in the plant comply with established safety standards and regulations.
This role is vital for maintaining a safe work environment and minimizing workplace incidents and accidents.
Responsibilities:
- Safety Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections in all areas of the plant to identify and evaluate potential risks and hazards.
- Safety Procedures Development: Develop, implement, and update safety procedures and policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Emergency Coordination: Coordinate and supervise evacuation drills and emergency response exercises, ensuring all employees are prepared for emergencies.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, preparing detailed reports with recommendations to prevent future incidents.
- Employee Training: Provide safety training and occupational health awareness to staff, ensuring all employees understand and follow safety policies.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all safety-related activities, including inspections, incidents, training, and audits.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work with other departments to ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safety culture throughout the organization.
- Safety Audits: Participate in planning and conducting internal safety audits to continuously evaluate and improve safety procedures.
Requirements:
- Education: Degree in Safety or a related field.
- Experience: Previous experience in industrial safety or occupational health is valuable.
- Knowledge: Understanding of safety regulations and standards, including local, national, and international regulations.
- Language Skills: Intermediate/advanced level of English, both spoken and written.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Analytical Skills: Ability to identify and assess risks effectively.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to train staff and collaborate with other departments.
- Organization: Ability to maintain accurate records and organize emergency drills and audits.
