This role is crucial for the Technology organization as we evolve our existing technology platform, promoting developer autonomy while ensuring scalability, security, quality, and reliability.
As a Platform Engineer within our Core Platform Product team, you will be responsible for defining, maintaining, and enhancing the ESML Kubernetes Platform, embracing a DevOps approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the technical team to design, implement, operate, and maintain our internal Kubernetes deployments.
- Engage in technical discussions and decision-making to deliver effective technical solutions.
- Apply established technical standards, patterns, and best practices to the solutions provided.
- Ensure that software quality and security are integral to the solutions, including the development and execution of relevant tests, with an emphasis on automation.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and optimization of the system, staying informed about the latest industry trends and identifying areas for enhancement.
- Incorporate observability into the product to facilitate smooth system operations.
Work Environment
This position operates under a Hybrid Model, allowing for both remote work and collaboration at our offices.
Reporting Structure
You will report directly to the Team Lead of Core Platform Products.
Candidate Profile
Experience and Qualifications
This role is vital for achieving ESML's growth and transformation objectives. We seek a highly capable individual with excellent time management skills and an analytical mindset. The ideal candidate will be both a strategic solution provider and an operational enabler.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering.
- Fluent in English.
- Approximately 6 years of experience in IT.
- Proficient in administering Kubernetes, particularly RKE2, AKS, and EKS.
- Extensive knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and automation languages, especially Terraform, Ansible, and AWX.
- Strong understanding of design practices and system architecture, considering reliability, scalability, security, operational costs, and adoption paths.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with public/private cloud environments, particularly Azure and AWS.
- Familiarity with Agile Frameworks and DevOps principles.
